A Capital Experience – UK Career Academy Foundation – 15 November 2007

Over 800 first year Career Academy students (16 to 18 year olds) will be coming to London for the day!  The aim is to provide them with a highly motivating introduction to the world of business.  For some, this will be their first visit to London.  

Penna is pleased to be taking part in this worthwhile initiative and will play host to a class of students and teachers who will see 'behind the scenes' of our business and have the opportunity to network with our business leaders over lunch.

HR Anticipates “Leapers” Replacing “Lifers”

A survey of HR Directors reveals that a huge 88% believe that the future workforce will be less loyal than past generations. Yet worryingly, only 20% consider that they have sufficient initiatives in place to address the issue.

The Penna survey also found that 92% of senior HR professionals consider CSR policies important to employer brand, recognition perhaps that social responsibility is key to the recruitment and retention of the ‘X’ and ‘Y’ generations.

Penna Establishes New Managed Coaching Division

In a bid to offer companies quality, consistency and results when building internal and external coaching capabilities, Penna Leadership Development has established a Managed Coaching division headed up by newly appointed Ruth McNaughton.

Penna has created this new service to offer companies a more cohesive programme of executive coaching.   McNaughton and her team will work with external and internal coaches to ensure quality standards in executive coaching and to encourage joined-up thinking across the business.

The UK Career Academy Foundation leads and supports a national movement of employers, schools and colleges, working to raise the aspirations of 16-19 year olds who are considering a career in business.

The annual conference of the Career Academy movement is taking place on Wednesday 20 June 2007 at the Credit Suisse offices in Canary Wharf.

Kent Police Appoints Penna Recruitment Communications

Kent Police, one of the largest police forces in the country, has appointed Penna Recruitment Communications (PRC) as its new recruitment marketing agency.

This is the latest is a series of contracts that Penna has won to work with British police forces on a range of projects across the spectrum of its human capital management services.  The agency will be working with Kent Police to attract the very best candidates for Police Officer, Community Support Officer and civilian roles.

Penna wins Prestigious Advertising Award

Penna Recruitment Communications has received the award for “General Appointments” in the 2007 Recruitment Advertising Awards.

Penna’s work for client Ecolab won over the judges and is a project of which Penna is particularly proud.  Ecolab is a global leader in sanitisation and environmental services and needed a campaign to attract applications to their pest control business.  Traditionally one of the toughest areas to recruit to, it required an attention-grabbing campaign.

Experienced public sector expert joins Penna Interim team

Penna has appointed David Weir to its Interim Management division as Sector Head, Local Government.  Weir’s appointment will further enhance Penna’s expertise in placing interim managers across the public sector.

James Hunt, managing director of Interim Executive at Penna, said: “We have developed a strong network of candidates, particularly in social services, procurement and Human Resources and David is responsible for extending this talent pool of professional interim managers on behalf of Penna’s local government clients.”
