CIPFA-Penna go North

Two new recruits join the CIPFA-Penna Practice this September as part of Penna’s team expansion in the north of England and Midlands. Mizan Rouf joins as Senior Consultant for CIPFA-Penna in the North and Arron Seera as new client Consultant based in Birmingham.

Head of the CIPFA-Penna Practice, Philippa Watkins, says “our specialist focus in finance attraction, interim, search, sourcing and assessment is enhancing our growth, and we’re delighted that Mizan and Arron are joining us and bringing their considerable experience.”

Meet the team

On his arrival Mizan commented, “I am absolutely delighted to join CIPFA-Penna’s Local Government Finance team as a Senior Recruitment Consultant.”

Mizan joins the fast growing CIPFA-Penna team with 14 years working experience in South Yorkshire and across the North East. Having previously worked in local government, he’s seen first-hand how local authorities can positively impact individuals and communities, despite facing unprecedented challenges and cutbacks.

He says, “many of the senior leaders within local authorities that I talk to are in the process of shaping and implementing recovery plans. The recurring challenges that they mention are: finances and people. I am therefore relishing the opportunity of placing senior finance professionals into leadership roles within local governments so that they can help drive local authorities forward.”

Arron, who also brings 5 years recruitment experience, commented “I am thrilled to be joining CIPFA-Penna’s Local Government Finance team as a Consultant. Given the current climate, working in the public sector finance arena is even more challenging than usual and I am very much looking forward to working with stakeholders to deliver public services’’ His extensive background ranges across Insurance, IT and technical sectors, handling permanent and interim appointments from mid to executive level.

Given the current economic challenges, this is a perfect time to have both Mizan and Arron join the business. The duo is dedicated to their practice and will facilitate local authorities’ hiring for finance professionals into senior interim roles. One month in and they have put down their roots.

Philippa Watkins comments; “we’re all about supporting and growing talent at Penna and so I’m delighted that Mizan and Arron are joining my team. They both have a strong track record in recruitment from across different specialism. Their previous experience will allow them to build on the excellent work already undertaken by the CIPFA-Penna Team. I’m excited to see Mizan and Arron’s career go from strength-to-strength in their new roles.”
